On Waiting
I wait for her to wash and dress
One time she put her pants on inside out,
We made a joke about it.
Why shouldn’t we wait patiently?
Doesn’t God?
Plenty of you speak of being mindful,
giving praises to the importance of staying in the present moment.
Breathe, one, two, three, yes, you’ve got it
And then in a flash, you lose it again
as thoughts of tonight’s dinner unravels
The long list of minutia
I read somewhere recently, that the moment you "have a moment" you lose it again. I guess that's life, isn't it? All moments rushing past. Sometimes words can catch the moment and let you look at it again.
